UCLH Surgery and Cancer facility

WSP provided specialist mechanical and electrical engineering services for the design and installation of the Proton Beam Therapy Centre systems as well as building services for other areas including operating theatres, MRI and imaging.

The project’s unique challenges included routing electrical conduits and interacting with the radiation shielding design, as well as meeting the complex equipment servicing requirements, and overseeing the interfaces with clinical services and the wider patient experience.

Working closely with the system manufacturer and our client, Bouygues UK, we shared a BIM platform and 4D software for design and construction and for the future operations and maintenance of the building.
